Forum Theatre

To date we have used Forum Theatre techniques in a variety of settings to aid training, personal development or to explore conflict resolution and problem solving issues, in a variety of settings for a number of companies.

The advantage of a Forum approach is that, with research, it can be tailor made to reach a specific audience by incorporating their everyday language, typical approach and attitudes. In this way it can serve to flag up both positive and negative behaviour.

Given the nature of Forum, it is a safe arena in which to explore options, run scenarios to their inevitable conclusions and show how effective proposed changes could be and how they might help transform things for the better, in a shared environment.

For a national supermarket chain's Regional Management Saul researched, wrote, directed and facilitated a workshop using a number of Forum Theatre scenes to explore specific, problematic issues faced on a day to day basis by the managers in the effective running of their stores. He also led a module on non-verbal communication where participants had the chance to explore the effect of body language.

For a major fast food franchise he was part of a team delivering a national series of workshops for restaurant owners exploring their relationship with middle management in particular, and the company in general.
